The businesses in this category do two related jobs: they turn anonymous interest into named leads, and they turn one-off buyers into repeat customers. That means unmasking the companies and people visiting your website, capturing details through forms and chat, enriching and scoring that data so sales knows who's worth calling, and finding new prospects to add to the list in the first place. On the retention side, it means running the points, tiers, referral and advocacy programmes that get existing customers to buy again and bring others with them. When it works, marketing stops guessing at demand and starts handing sales a ranked list of accounts actually showing buying signals, and revenue stops depending entirely on new logo acquisition.
People go looking for this when the top of the funnel isn't converting into anything usable. Traffic is up but form fills aren't, or forms fill but the data is junk. Lead mining tools automate outbound prospecting and list-building, which raises questions about data sourcing and compliance with platforms like LinkedIn. Loyalty and advocacy platforms split along B2C points-and-rewards versus B2B referral-and-advocacy lines, and differ in redemption logistics, program flexibility and reporting depth. When comparing providers, weigh identification accuracy against privacy risk, depth of native integration against flexibility, and whether pricing scales with contacts, visitors or active customers in a way that matches how you'll actually use it.
