Others focus on moderation quality: AI or human-assisted filtering aimed at civility and safety, popular with publishers and platforms with legal or reputational exposure. A third group treats comments as a conversion tool — lightweight, review-style, or embedded in course and product pages to build social proof rather than open debate.

When comparing them, look at data ownership and where comments are hosted, how moderation is done (automated, human, or both), whether they carry ads or track your visitors for their own purposes, how well they integrate with your specific CMS or e-commerce platform, and pricing — some charge per comment volume or site, others per seat. The right choice depends on whether you're optimising for community health, safety, or straightforward sales conversion.
