These are the vendors behind the webinars companies run to sell, train, or demonstrate something to an audience that isn't in the room. Underneath what looks like a video call sits a registration page that captures names and email addresses, an email sequence that reminds people to show up, a live or pre-recorded broadcast with slides, polls and Q&A, and a set of attendee data afterwards — who joined, how long they stayed, what they clicked, whether they asked a question. That data usually flows into a CRM or marketing automation tool so sales can follow up with the people who mattered and marketing can see whether the event was worth running again.

The search for this software usually starts because a company outgrew doing webinars by ad hoc video call. Someone in marketing has been running sessions on a generic conferencing tool and has no reliable way to see who registered versus who attended, no branded registration page, and no automatic follow-up — so leads sit in a spreadsheet and go cold. Or a sales team wants to run the same product demo weekly without a person hosting it live every time. Or a customer success or training team needs to certify that people actually watched something, at a scale a phone call can't handle. In each case the trigger is the same: webinars have become a real part of how the business finds or keeps customers, and the tooling hasn't caught up.

You'll find real differences in what these products are actually optimised for. Some are built for one host talking to a few hundred people on a schedule, with strong registration and email automation; others are built to simulate a live session on demand, so a prospect can 'attend' a polished recording at 3am and still get a live chat box and follow-up email. A separate tier is built for large-scale virtual events — multiple concurrent sessions, expo-style booths, thousands of attendees — which is overkill if you're running a monthly product demo. Worth comparing directly: how deep the integration goes with the CRM or marketing automation tool you already use, how attendee data is reported (drop-off points, engagement scoring, not just headcount), the cap on attendee numbers and what happens above it, and whether pricing is per host, per registrant, or per event, since that changes the economics a lot once volume goes up.
