These businesses build and run the plumbing behind sending someone a reward without a person manually buying a gift card or writing a cheque. In practice that means an API or dashboard that lets a company issue digital gift cards, prepaid cards, cash equivalents or points, choose from a catalogue of hundreds of redemption brands across different countries and currencies, and automate delivery by email, link or integration so the reward lands the moment a milestone, sale, survey completion or referral happens. Once this is in place, someone running a program can trigger thousands of payouts a month, see who redeemed what, and reconcile the spend against a budget instead of tracking it in a spreadsheet.

What actually separates them is worth checking directly: how many countries and currencies they genuinely support versus just list, whether delivery is API-first or requires someone to log in and click send, how they handle tax reporting and unredeemed breakage, what the fee structure looks like (flat transaction fee, subscription, or a markup baked into the face value), and how good their support is for the person actually receiving the reward, since a broken redemption link becomes your problem, not theirs.
