These vendors build the systems that event teams use to get an event from an idea to something people actually attend. That covers building a registration and ticketing flow, setting up an event website or app, managing speakers, sessions and agendas, handling badges and check-in, running the video and networking layer for virtual or hybrid sessions, and pulling together the attendee and revenue data once it's over. Hire one of these tools and the work that used to live in spreadsheets, email threads and a handful of disconnected point tools moves into one system that your team, your sponsors and your attendees all touch.

People end up here because an event has outgrown the ad hoc way they've been running it. Registration is happening through a form that doesn't talk to the payment processor or the CRM. Nobody can say how many tickets have sold, who's actually shown up in past years, or which sponsors got their money's worth. A move to virtual or hybrid exposed that the team has no way to stream sessions, run breakout networking, or capture engagement data at all. Or the event has simply grown past what one coordinator juggling PDFs and email can manage, and the risk of a badly run event — long queues, a broken app, a sponsor booth nobody visits — is now a real cost to the business.

The providers here split roughly by what part of the job they own and what scale they're built for. Some are broad platforms trying to cover planning, registration, on-site and virtual in one product; others do one piece well — ticketing, audience polling, venue booking, mobile apps — and expect to sit alongside other tools via integrations. Some are built for high-volume ticketed conferences and festivals, others for corporate meetings, trade shows or internal events where the buyer cares more about branding and data capture than public ticket sales. Worth comparing on: how well it handles your event's actual format (large in-person, virtual-only, hybrid), how the pricing works (per attendee, per event, flat SaaS fee — this matters a lot at scale), how deep the sponsor and exhibitor tools go if that's a revenue line for you, and how easily it exports or integrates with the CRM and marketing stack you already run.
