These businesses get hired to make sure the right people hear about you before they've gone looking. That covers a wide range of concrete work: building prospect lists and running cold email or LinkedIn sequences to book sales meetings, buying and placing ads across digital, out-of-home, print or broadcast, designing the visual identity and creative assets a brand shows up with, running mobile push and app-engagement campaigns, and staging physical activations, launch events or trade show builds. When it works, a founder or sales team stops relying on referrals and inbound trickle and starts seeing a steady, plannable flow of meetings booked, impressions bought, or brand recognition built in a specific market.
People end up here because something isn't generating enough attention on its own. A founder is doing all the selling personally and has hit a ceiling. A sales team has a target and an empty calendar. A product is good but nobody outside a small circle has heard of it, and inbound leads aren't coming because there's no inbound yet to speak of. Some are small, high-volume outbound shops built around cold email or LinkedIn outreach, priced per meeting booked or on a monthly retainer. Others are branding and design studios doing slower, project-based creative work on identity and positioning. Others still are full-service agencies buying media across TV, out-of-home or digital, or specialists in mobile push, SMS and app engagement, or experiential agencies building physical events and activations. When comparing them, look at which channel they actually specialise in versus which they merely list, how they price (retainer, project fee, or pay-per-result), whether they execute your strategy or set it, and whether their past work is in your industry or a general portfolio.
