These providers build and run the software that a conference, summit, product launch or internal all-hands actually happens inside of when it isn't in a single room. People end up here because an event that used to happen in a hotel ballroom now needs to happen partly or entirely online, and the tools they already have weren't built for it. A generic video call handles the talking heads but not registration, session scheduling, sponsor visibility, or breakout networking. Some are built for large, multi-day hybrid conferences with thousands of attendees, multiple tracks, and heavy production needs; others are lighter, faster to set up, and better suited to a single-day virtual summit or recurring webinar series. Networking is where the real differences show: some rely on searchable attendee lists and scheduled video calls, others use AI-driven matchmaking, and a few build spatial, avatar-based environments meant to recreate the feel of walking a show floor. Beyond that, compare them on whether they offer white-glove production support or expect you to self-serve, how deep the post-event analytics and CRM integrations go, and how pricing scales — per attendee, per event, or as an annual licence — since that decides whether the tool still makes sense once your event grows or your event calendar gets busier.
