These are the businesses you hire when you need video ads made, placed, served and tracked — not just designed. Some run the media buying itself, plugging into connected TV, YouTube, in-app and social inventory through programmatic or direct deals; others focus on the production side, turning a brief into finished video creative at a pace and cost that suits digital campaigns rather than a single TV spot; others still sit in the ad-serving and verification layer, deciding which creative shows where, tracking completion rates, and checking the ad ran next to content that won't embarrass the brand. After working with one, a company typically has video running in channels it couldn't reach or manage before, with clearer numbers on what that spend actually did.

People end up here because video has become unavoidable but hard to handle in-house. Budget has moved from linear TV or static display into CTV and social video, but the team doesn't have the production pipeline to keep up with the volume of creative that performance-driven video campaigns demand, or the media-buying expertise to navigate fragmented inventory across dozens of apps and platforms. Others arrive because they're already spending on video and can't get a straight answer on where it ran, whether it was viewed, or whether it sat next to content that damages the brand — money going out with no way to defend it internally.

The split worth understanding first is between self-serve platforms and managed services: a DSP-style tool gives you control and lower fees but expects you to bring the strategy and creative; a managed offering costs more but hands off targeting, optimisation and often production entirely. From there, compare what they're actually built for — CTV-first platforms behave differently from social-video or mobile specialists, and a pure ad server or verification tool won't buy media at all, it just governs what you already bought. Worth checking too: minimum spend commitments, how creative testing and iteration work, the depth of brand suitability controls, and whether reporting ties back to business outcomes or stops at impressions and completion rate.
