Some specialise in a platform (a particular ERP, cloud provider, or CRM) or a technology (machine learning, data engineering), others work across the stack but within one industry. Engagement models vary too: fixed-scope project delivery, ongoing staff augmentation embedded in your team, or a managed service that keeps running the system after go-live. Worth comparing directly: whether they've built on your specific stack before, whether pricing is time-and-materials or fixed price, how much of the team is offshore versus local, and whether they disappear after launch or stay on to run and improve what they built.
