International mobile ad tech company
These are the businesses an app publisher hires to turn screen time into money. Practically, that means integrating an SDK or mediation layer that plugs your app into multiple ad networks and demand-side platforms, running the waterfall or unified auction that decides which ad fills each impression, and handling the formats themselves — rewarded video, interstitials, native units, banners. Some go further and manage the whole ad operation for you: direct deals, yield tuning, header bidding setup, and reporting that tells you which placements and which users are actually worth showing ads to. A few also cover app discovery and user acquisition, so the same relationship that monetizes your traffic also helps you buy more of it.
The reason someone ends up looking for this is usually one of a few things. You've launched an app, you have installs and daily active users, but revenue per user is flat or falling and you don't know if that's a demand problem, a placement problem, or both. Or you started with a single ad network's SDK and it's underperforming against what you hear other apps get, but adding more networks yourself means juggling SDKs, conflicting reporting, and a waterfall nobody has time to optimize properly. Sometimes it's simpler: a small team with no ad-ops experience needs someone else to just run this so engineering can build the product instead of tuning eCPMs.
The split among providers is mostly self-serve software versus managed service. The SDK-and-mediation platforms give you control and usually take a revenue share or fee, but you're still responsible for configuration and testing. The agency-style operators take over ad ops entirely, often for a bigger cut of revenue, and are worth it mainly once you have enough traffic to justify a dedicated account manager. Beyond that, compare providers on which demand sources and formats they actually support, whether their reporting is transparent enough to audit fill rates and eCPMs independently, any minimum traffic thresholds, and whether they're purely ad-focused or also handle in-app purchase monetization and paywalls alongside ads.
