Ad Intelligence Software
Software that tracks competitors' ad spend, creative, app rankings and attribution data, for marketers who need to see what rivals are doing and where their own budget is working.

These tools exist to answer one question a marketing team keeps asking without a good way to check: what is everyone else doing, and is it working better than what we're doing? The vendors here pull in data from ad exchanges, app stores, social platforms and SDK panels, then turn it into something usable — a feed of a competitor's live display creative, an estimate of what they're spending on a given network, a ranking history for their app against keywords you both bid on, or an attribution model that shows which of your own channels actually produced the install or the sale. Hire one of these and what changes is visibility: you stop guessing at a competitor's strategy from their public output and start seeing the mechanics behind it, and you stop reporting on your own spend using a last-click model that everyone in the room quietly distrusts.
The trigger is usually one of two situations. Either a competitor is visibly winning — climbing app store charts, dominating a search term, growing fast — and nobody can explain why, so budget decisions get made on hunches. Or the company's own paid spend has grown across enough channels that nobody can say with confidence which campaigns, creatives or platforms are actually driving revenue, and finance is asking questions the marketing team can't answer with the data it has. In both cases the underlying problem is the same: decisions are being made on incomplete or lagging information, and the cost of that shows up as wasted spend, missed positioning, or a board presentation nobody feels good about.
The providers split largely by what they're built to watch. Some specialise in mobile — app store optimisation, keyword rankings, Apple Search Ads bidding, install estimates via SDK panels — and are most useful if your growth depends on app store discovery. Others focus on display and programmatic, scraping ad exchanges and creative libraries to show you competitor ad spend, placements and creative rotation over time. A smaller group works on attribution specifically, stitching together multi-touch models across web and app so you can see contribution by channel rather than just the last click. Compare them on where their data actually comes from — panel-based estimates, scraped public data, or SDK-level tracking — because that determines how accurate the numbers are and how far back or how granular they go. Also check channel and geographic coverage against your own footprint, how fresh the data is, and whether spend figures are estimated or measured, since two vendors can give you very different numbers for the same competitor and both call it intelligence.
